Jane is a Clinical Specialist OT with over 14 years extensive experience within neurological rehabilitation. She works within a regional rehabilitation centre carrying a caseload of adolescents and adults with wide ranging diagnoses and highly complex presentations. She has undertaken a Masters degree, carrying out action research, looking at clinical reasoning and decision making during assessment. It led to the formulation of a tool to help guide novice through to expert clinicians during assessment. She has presented at local and national forums and conferences. She has taught undergraduate degree Modules and has mentored a Masters student. She has extensive experience supervising other clinicians and regularly supervises students on clinical placement. She supports learning and development across the team through training, joint sessions and informal advice. She now extends her time outside of the NHS, within the private sector. Her hope is that she can share her experience and expertise beyond the NHS. She is passionate about working from a sound evidenced-based approach to ensure she is always delivering an excellent service. She carries out expert assessment covering all domains including cognitive, perceptual, physical and the upper limb. She has also had extensive experience working in the specialty of disorders of consciousness, challenging behaviours and vocational rehabilitation. She works with people in a variety of settings and values the importance of each individual’s own personal context.
